orkut for S60, now with photo uploads and picture galleries

When we launched the mobile (xhtml) version of orkut back in April on m.orkut.com, we were overwhelmed by its adoption.
However, Google always tries to build our products for a diverse group of users. Many people access orkut from their smartphones, many of which can support more advanced functionality. So today we are launching a new mobile orkut experience that is optimized for Symbian Series 60 (3rd edition) phones. The new orkut works on many popular phones, including Nokia's Nseries (N95, N82, etc.) and Samsung's SGH models. And we have added a bunch of new features including photo uploads, picture galleries, click-to-call, and quick friend searches. But the best part of it all - everything is available without the need to download any special client. Just open your phone browser, type http://m.orkut.com, and if you have a Symbian Series 60 3rd edition phone, you are good to go!
So go ahead and upload all those wonderful pictures you took at the beach or at the city's latest dancing spot, and then start calling your orkut friends to plan the next gathering.

Cool thing to do - simply through the phone browser - without installing another app!
Though a Picassa and GTalk app for Symbian S60 3rd edition will be the ultimate cool. Any plans for that?

I am using operamini 4 on nokia 6235. This is series 40 phone. What about low end phone?. I cant open m.orkut.com from operamini 4. From 15 august i cant open orkut on my mobile. Because of this update lowend phone users who are using operamini 4 for internet browsing have problem with orkut. Make changes which will not creat problem. Think about operamini 4 users.

Orkut stopped working on opera mini 4. Its a real harassment to opera mini users. Google team should do revert their settings to pre 15 aug 08 or make changes. It might be due to some security related damn thing. Earlier opera mini showed an open lock but now showing a closed lock on the right top with the ugly google blank page. Hey Google, think of withdrawing orkut if you cant deliver it.

Real problem is cookies. When i tried to open orkut from operamini via http://www.quickbrowsing.com I got message from GOOGLE ACCOUNTs that your browser's cookies functionality is turned off. Please turn it on'. Google team, must make changes thinking use of mobile internet is easy for people then desktop, when traveling or dont have access to desktop internet. In India there mobile owners are more than pc and laptop users.so please restore to settings before 15 august. Have talk with operamini team and solve problem. I have already posted a topic in my opera forums. Member from operamini team told its googles (orkut) job. know who is in fault. Operamini or orkut?

Hey mobile orkut is not working on opera 4.1
it is disgraceful.
We have to use internet explorer on our mobiles to access it. Which is not so user friendly.
People at google. Do something to correct this.

one had written open mobile version then click on full site

I am also facing the same problem...m using N73 firstly i was able to open the orkut in full view both from opera mini and mobile browser but nw m nt able to open it and i hate using mobile version of orkut...

hi,i m using nokia n82.i m facing same prblm as above,priviously i was able to open full suite of orkut.but now i can't.the mobile vesion is too boring.i dont want to use it.google team plz do somthing for us,for ur people plz.plz do change ur setting or whatever so that we able to open full version of orkut on our mobile device..plz m waitng....

por que esto... por que necesitamos cargar una o varias fotos a la vez.. en muy incomodo hacerla de a una en caso de que tengas 20 fotos...
