Explore seven continents with Street View on your phone

Two years ago, we added Street View to Google Maps for mobile so you could explore the world at street level right from your phone. Today, we’re happy to announce that you can see Street View imagery on all seven continents, with the addition of Brazil, Ireland and Antarctica – specifically, an area called Half Moon Island. Now, you can really explore the world from the palm of your hand.

We encourage you to go ahead and check out the beaches of Brazil, visit the moors of Ireland or see penguins in Antarctica for yourself.








To use Street View on Google Maps for your supported phone, select a place on the map and then choose the Street View option if available. With an Android-powered phone, try hopping across each continent with the new Street View smart navigation.

    This is simply awesome. I mean, AWESOME. Google is doing such a great job with Android system and all its extensions, I love it. I don't know how the world would look like if there wasn't Google, but I know one for sure: it would be worse. THANK YOU!

    The Half Moon Island link Force Closes Google Maps on my Android HTC Desire running Froyo 2.2, is this not a supported link?

    This is great but when will we have the ability to view "MY MAPS" on our Mobile device?
    The ability to consult (let alone enrich) the user-created MY MAPS while on the field and using our Mobile phone would be close the "killer-app of geolocation"!

    @Julien: This is available already, touch the Layers button, then touch the More Layers button next to Clear Map, then touch My Maps, and all your create maps will be listed here

    I would like to be able to load a track from "My Tracks" into Google Navigator - Basically I could cyle a route for a competition then others could follow that route, either in a real competiton at the same time, or in a virtual competition.
