To help solve this problem, today we announced a new product from Google Labs: Google Fast Flip for computers, iPhone, and Android-powered devices. Google Fast Flip combines some of the best features of reading articles in print and on the web.
With this webapp you can literally flip through stories with the swipe of your finger. To get more information or view the entire article, simply tap on the screen. You can browse headlines and popular articles, and view trending topics. Searching for a specific topic lets you make your own "magazine." Fast Flip makes sharing articles easy as well. To send an article to someone, simply tap on the "Email" link in the upper right.

To try it out, point your mobile browser to fastflip.googlelabs.com. For easy access, we recommend creating a home screen link or bookmark. My Nokia 5800 uses the same browser as the iphone but when I visit fast flip using my phone, all I get is the regular page designed for a PC.

I'm a big news consumer and would really like to make full use of Fast Flip.
When will the "Google Mobile App" be available on Singapore iTunes store?
ReplyDeleteKiran, your Nokia doesn't run a mobile form of Mac OSX, which the iPhone does, pretty sure it's not the same browser.

ReplyDeleteonly friendly for iphone and android users. WM uses real browsers so the images are small, you can zoom in, but it's not in a page style. everyone else columns the pages like the Blackberries.
ReplyDeleteThis is still a work in progress and needs to be universal. Not everyone likes the iPhone. I'm planning on getting an Android phone when one comes out for Verizon or AT&T.
a better looking icon on my homescreen would be nice!
ReplyDeleteworks on the Skyfire browser for WM 6.1 on my HTC Touch, though it loads as a webpage like you'd see in Chrome or IE on the PC. It doesn't automatically fit the screen like you'd expect from an app.

ReplyDeleteThe auto-flip is an issue. If you don't have android or an iPhone than people won't use it. It needs to be universal. I plan on switching to an Android phone and getting out of these controversies with Apple.
ReplyDeleteIn the Android community, if someone wants an app, people will build it. Unlike Apple who will turn it down once the programmers are finished. That I do not want to end up happening.
