Google Catalogs presents the coveted Neiman Marcus Christmas Book and debuts the Fantasy Gifts Retrospective--for free on your tablet

Neiman Marcus is known for the outrageously beautiful and unique merchandise showcased in their annual Christmas Book. Think of the most amazing gifts you can imagine -- a beautiful Chanel handbag, a Orefici watch, or perhaps your very own tailored mermaid suit or customizable cupcake car.

For this holiday season, Google Catalogs has collaborated with Neiman Marcus to offer you a free, browsable copy of this year’s Christmas Book. We’ve also created the very first historic compilation of Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gifts from the past ten years. It’s called the Fantasy Gifts Retrospective and you’ll only find it on the Google Catalogs app for iPad, available for free in the App Store.

To celebrate the Fantasy Gifts Retrospective, we’ve picked out our favorite gifts from the past 10 years! Sadly, gifts from prior years are no longer for sale, but we trust you'll enjoy the 2011 gifts and the walk down memory lane.

Any chance of seeing Google Catalog on Android?

Still pushing out exclusive content for your competitor while Android tablet owners continue to go without the service entirely? It makes it seem like not even Google has faith in its tablets.

Not in the UK app store.

As I read this from my BB Playbook (Great tab by the by), I at least have the comfort of knowing that Android tablets will sadly be just as horribly supported as mine....you'd think Google would push everything they can onto their own devices.

Google does not see Apple as a competitor in the same way that Microsoft did/does. Even though Google's mission statement is "do no harm" (or something like that), what they are really about is dissemninating information and giving people access. Since iPad is the dominant tab based on market share, they are disseminating first where the most people can get to it. It still is disappointing and if it were me, I would at least release both OS's at the same time.

stop sending me stupid updates about an app that is not available to me on Google's native platform!!!!!

I also don't understand how google continues to push out apps first for their competitions device which has a HUGE majority of the market share. Also, why are Google Execs tweeting with iphones instead of using Android phones? Google needs to do a better job of showing faith in their own products..

The text was very specific "Tablet". Not iPad. Tablets are devices other than iPads.
Something is really wrong with Google & this is demeaning.

Frankly I find it absurd that Google would choose to release this on an Apple device before Android. It shows the fragmentation of focus in the company. Apple is no friend to Google - Steve Jobs wanted to destroy Android - that's a fact.

This type of behavior makes me second guess Google's overall commitment to their Android platform company wide.

Do Larry and Sergei know that a Google product was developed for iOS without even a hint of an Android equivalent? If they don't I'd hate to be there when they find out. If they do I would like to know before the 30 day return policy on my Android tblet expires so I can go exchange it for an iPad.

Tell me you didn't just create a catalog that's only available on the iPad. Seriously? That's just crazy!
